Yes, 1.2.2 is currently the latest version.

I haven’t tested if the extension can work with Thunderbird. In theory it should be possible to do it “easily”, but I guess that in this case instead of trying to send the current page it should be restricted mostly to a context menu option to send the selected text or link as you’ve stated.

But, isn’t it easier to configure that mail account in your phone? that way you can get the mails with all the content without this proxy.

Thank you for your work on providing this add-on for firefox. I use v1.2.2 (the latest?) on FF 10.0.2 without issue. Especially useful for transferring tracking codes to my phone to paste into PackageBuddy (a package tracking app).

Is it possible to shoe-horn this extension into Thunderbird so I can send links, clipboard, etc directly out of my email instead of having to get the content into FF first?

I’ve checked and the buttons inserted by other extensions like Firebug and AdBlock Plus have the same size.

Just of a minor UI issue; since FF10 shrunk the toolbar, the Fox To Phone button sticks out like a sore thumb as being bigger than everything else, forcing the other buttons to resize and breaking continuity. Any chance of a smaller button?

That’s a change in the new version of ChromeToPhone, the only “solution” that we could provide is to send a landing page with just the text “The text has been copied to your clipboard”, but I don’t think that it’s really nice.

Anyway, in our extension we should show the correct message “The text/link/file has been sent…” instead of always “link”.

And star that issue that I’ve linked, if it’s clear that enough people care about it, they might revert this change or improve it somehow.

You are right alfonoso. I didn’t realize that the text is copied even though the foxtophone prompt says ‘ the link has been sent to your phone’ and a browser opens up on my phone. I am on Galaxy S II.
What has happened ? It used to say copied to clipboard and my phone would show that items were copied to the clipboard. Now I don’t get an alert on my phone about the clipboard but a browser requests to be opened. Is it the new update by chrometophone? Can you work around it? Good luck and keep us posted.

I’ve tested right now and it keeps sending the clipboard for me. The only problem now is that it also opens the current url (or google.com) and that has been reported in this ticket: http://code.google.com/p/chrometophone/issues/detail?id=422

If you are getting this page every time you open Firefox is because for some reason we can’t write the preference to remember that the alert has already been shown, or it is reset after you close Firefox.
In about:config there should be an entry called “extensions.sendtophone.latestNotice” of type integer with the value 10202.
